Using Oceanir
Oceanir analyzes the visual clues in an image to estimate where it was taken. Use the web app to run an analysis and review the evidence without writing code.
Start with an image
Open the app and upload the image you want to examine. Keep signs, architecture, roads, and landscape visible where possible; these provide context for the analysis.
Choose the analysis depth
The available depths control the level of analysis. Review the credit cost shown in the app before starting.
- Depth 1: a broad location estimate.
- Depth 2: location candidates with visual evidence.
- Depth 3: deeper verification, including supporting and contradicting evidence.
Read Location precision to understand how to interpret the returned coordinates.
Review the result
- Check the leading candidate and the location precision.
- Compare the stated visual clues with the original image.
- Review alternative candidates and contradictions when available.
- Use independent evidence to resolve uncertainty before relying on the estimate.
A confidence score is not a guarantee. Images with few distinctive clues may not support a precise location.
